

Georgia Southwestern announces fall graduates
Several local residents recently were awarded degrees from Georgia Southwestern State University during its fall commencement ceremonies. They included:

Sandra Duke of Senoia, Master in Education in Early Childhood Education
Margaret Bunn of Senoia, specialist's degree in Teacher Leadership
Mark Lentz of Moreland, Bachelor of Business Administration in Management
Anna Waters of Newnan, Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing
Sheri Spurlock of Moreland, specialist's degree in Middle Grades Education
Anderson graduates from Harding University.
Paul Anderson of Newnan was one of more than 400 students awarded diplomas during Harding University’s fall commencement ceremony.
Anderson received a Master of Education in reading with dyslexia endorsement.
Georgia Southwestern announces Dean’s List
Area residents have been named to academic honors lists at Georgia Southwestern State University. They include:
DEAN’S LIST: Kaylen Jones of Newnan and Amberlyn Koenig of Senoia. To be eligible, students must maintain a minimum 3.5 GPA while completing at least 12 hours of academic credit.
ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT LIST: Linda Campbell of Senoia, Tayler Fambro of Grantville and Jasmine Lewandowski of Newnan. To be eligible, students must have previously completed at least 12 hours of academic credit at GSW, maintain a minimum 3.5 GPA and complete 3-11 hours of academic credit during the semester.
Camp named to Dean’s List at Lehigh
Emma Camp of Palmetto has been named to the Dean’s List at Lehigh University for the fall 2022 semester.
To be eligible, students must maintain a minimum 3.6 GPA while completing at least 12 hours of academic credit.

Mahon awarded spring internship
Alexis Mahon of Sharpsburg has been awarded an internship during the spring 2023 semester at Albright College is completing an internship during the Spring semester of 2023.
A graduate of Northgate High School, Mahon works as a visual merchandise intern with Bella Jules while studying fashion: design & merchandising at Albright.

Elizabeth Ortega of Newnan has been named to the President's List in the John H. Lounsbury College of Education at Georgia College & State University for the fall 2022 semester.
Poulakos initiated into Omicron Delta Kappa
Mary Poulakos of Newnan recently was initiated into the Auburn University Circle of Omicron Delta Kappa, the National Leadership Honor Society.
The society welcomed 1,085 new initiates from 45 universities in November 2022.
Students initiated into the Society must be sophomores, juniors, seniors, or graduate/ professional students in the top 35 percent of their classes; demonstrate leadership experience in at least one of the five pillars; and embrace the ODK ideals.
Fewer than 5 percent of students on a campus are invited to join each year.
Grafmiller named to UNG President’s Honor Roll
