'Tuf' gets tougher at Junction Lanes

Despite Christmas break, there are a couple of leagues are still in session this week at Newnan's Junction Lanes Bowling Center.

The Tuf League conducted it's 16th week of the 2010-11 season Wednesday morning while the Thursday Night Champions conduct their 17th session tonight.

Meanwhile, the center will have a New Years Eve celebration with all of the party amenities on Friday evening while seeing the leagues resume their respective schedules next week.

The center is also preparing for the West Georgia City Tournament that will be played in January and the beginning of play three short-season leagues in the next couple of months.

The "Tuf Seniors" led the Tuf League having won 73 of a possible 120 points while "Just Tuf" trails by one point heading into the session.

"Tuf Cookies" is in third position with 69 points followed by "Ruf and Tuf," "Tuf Enuf." "Tuf & Stuf," "Tuf Trio" and "Fluf and Tuf."

When the Thursday Night Champions league begins play tonight, "Miller Time" will have a two point lead over "Team 2" at 82-80 with "Odd Balls," "The Untouchables," "Ready to Roll," "Gutterdawgs," "Fusion," "GHOOYA," "Just a Bit Outside," "Strike Force" and "Lane FX" rounding out the top 11 positions.

"Fusion" has the season high for the high scratch game from a team with a score of 889 while "Just a Bit Outside" is next at 884 who has the high scratch series with a total of 2481.

The TNC team known as "Jersey Sure" has the high handicap game and series in the first half with scores of 1061 and 2996, respectively.

Dennis Moore expects to have the season high score for a scratch game with a 299 with Jeff Mayo in second and two others in third at 279.

Mayo has the high scratch series with a 771 while Moore has the high handicap game at 324 and David Nester has the high handicap series with a total of 875.

Meanwhile, Patricia Wilson has the lead in all four scoring categories for the ladies while Elizabeth Bowers has the second highest scratch game and series and Jean Brisky has the second highest handicap game and series.

NOTE: Junction Lanes Bowling Center is located at the corner of Bullsboro and Shenandoah Drives in the Newnan Station Shopping Center.
