Prep Basketball: Newnan swept at Douglas County

The Newnan's boys basketball team lost a heartbreaker on Tuesday at Douglas County in Region 3-AAAAAA action.
The Cougars stormed back from a nine-point deficit after one quarter to eventually force overtime in a 79-73 loss while falling to 3-4 in 3-AAAAAA and 12-9 overall.
The Cougars now have lost three of its last four region games heading into Friday's home doubleheader against region leader Westlake. The Lions have won eight straight games and 10 of their last 11.
Newnan's girls fell 51-34 to the Lady Tigers, who remained one game back of state-ranked Langston Hughes for first place in 3-AAAAAA at 5-1 and 16-3 overall.
The Lady Cougars fell to 2-5 and 2-19 overall.
