ECHS’s Sanchez named to All-Tournament team

East Coweta shortstop Shemiah Sanchez continues to make a name for herself on the world softball stage.

Sanchez, who will start her junior season this fall for the Lady Indians, has spent the first half of the summer playing for the Puerto Rico Junior National team.

Last week during a tournament on the islands, she helped lead her team into the championship round with an All-Tournament performance.

However, because of a series of injuries to the National squad, they elected not to play in the championship round.

Instead, they are hoping to get healthy for the Junior World Series set for later this month in Canada.
