The Southside Middle School Tournament, put together by Copperhead Lacrosse locally, concludes today at East Coweta High School with area lineups taking on opponents from Fayette, Carroll, Cobb and Bibb counties today.

The 10-team tournament concludes starting this morning at 10 a.m with the Junior Indians-Purple and Junior Cougars, representing East Coweta and Newnan facing off in the ninth-place game.

East Coweta’s Junior Indians-Gold lineup faces Northgate’s Junior Vikings at 11:15 a.m. while among four teams still battling for fifth place. The other semifinal pits FPDS against McIntosh’s Junior Chiefs.

The four remaining teams in contention for the 2014 Southside Middle School title include two from Starr’s Mill — the Junior Panthers Blue and Junior Panthers White — one from Whitewater and another representing Whitefield Academy.

Whitewater’s Junior Wildcats enter today with a perfect 9-0 record.
