Northgate freshman 4th at Class AAAAA state meet

The Northgate girls cross country team finished 12th overall at the GHSA Class AAAAA cross country meet Saturday in Carrollton.

The Lady Vikings Caroline Nelson (19:59) was fourth was fourth.

Teammate Caitlin Bellora was 22nd for the Lady Vikings.

'The good thing is all of these girls are coming back next year' Northgate head coach Chris Kimes said. 'We should be strong for years to come.'

Complete results in Class AAAAA girls were unavailable due to technical difficulties.

Northview won the girls Class AAAAA event.

In Class AAAAAA boys, Newnan took 27th, while East Coweta took 28th.

In the Class AAAAAA girls division, Newnan was 22nd.

Among local runners, East Coweta senior Josh Bruce was 109th (18:24). Newnan's Matthew Miller (18:31) turned in the fastest time for the Cougars, finishing 120th.

Also for Newnan, Jonathan Martin (19:24) was 158th, Ben Ketelsen (19:44) was 177th, Tyler Vermilya (19:49) was 180th, Eli Moore (19:58) was 185th, Nick Dudek (20:01) was 187th and Ty Mossburg (20:43) was 204th.

In addition to Bruce, six other runners competed for East Coweta.

Samuel Siprelle (18:36) was 122nd, Zack Delgado (20:57) was 202nd, Chase Pack (21:38) was 216th, Kyle Hunt was (21:51) was 220th, Marquis Guy (21:52) was 221st, and Caleb Christopher (22:48) was 225th.

In the Class AAAAAA girls meet, Newnan's Elizabeth Westerfield (21:33) was 82nd, Anna Haydon (22:17) was 119th, Hannah Hudson (22:33) was 130th, Maya Sherman (22:44) was 139th, Mary Douglas Hallman (22:59) was 146th, Megan Diebboll (23:00) was 149th and Ally Thomas (24:00) was 168th.

In the Class A private school competition, Landmark won the boys title while Kathryn Forman (18:42) captured the Class A girls individual title. Pace Academy won the girls Class A private school title.

Westiminster won the Class AA boys, Wesleyan won the Class AA girls.
