Area FCA director to speak Sunday

Mark Tidwell, the current metro-Atlanta area director for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, will be speaking Sunday at White Oak First Baptist Church in Newnan at 11 a.m.


Tidwell, 48, a former standout high school athlete from Newnan, is currently battling Stage 4 cancer while still currently working with area schools through the FCA. He previously coached high school athletics for 19 years, winning eight state championships in five sports while named Georgia HIgh School Coach of the Year three times.


He has made numerous speaking engagements while continuing to battle the disease for the past four years.
