Northgate boys end successful season with Elite 8 loss

The Northgate Vikings’ tennis ended their season with a 5-0 loss to Starr’s Mill at the Class AAAAAA Elite 8.

Hayden Victer had one of the most competitive matches at No. 1 singles, falling 6-0, 4-6, 6-1 to Frank Rogers.

C.J. Evans lost 6-1, 6-1 to Alex Borovsky and Larry Sloan lost 6-3, 6-0 to Max Yelken.

Northgate also lost both if its doubles' matches, as Cole Chenowith and Derek Kinsch fell to Dubie Dubin and Shaz Deerani, 6-0, 6-0.

Austin Horvart and Bharath Shankar lost to Blake Traeger and Sebastien Schneider 6-0, 6-1.

Kinsch, Horvart, Shankar and Alex Armstrong are seniors on this year’s Northgate tennis team.
