Heritage sweeps Weber School

The Heritage School returned to the court after the holiday break with a sweep of the Weber School on Thursday.
Heritage rolled to a 82-58 victory and the girls played stingy defense to run away with a 56-16 win.
Three players finished in double figures for the Hawks as Garrett Jones led the way with 18 points.
Freshman Spencer Perry added 16 and Caleb Vaughn tossed in 10.
Fourteen different players scored at lest two points for the Hawks en route to the win.
Perry and Vaughn each had the hot hand from 3-point territory.
Perry was 2 of 5 from 3-point range, while Vaughn hit 1 of 2 attempts.

Jones controlled the game from inside the paint, pulling down seven rebounds.

The Hawks shot 70 percent from the free throw line, hitting 14 of 20 attempts.

The Weber School was led by Elliott Durden with 18 points.

Heritage 56, Weber School 16 (girls): The Lady Hawks pulled away from the Weber School and rolled to an easy victory.

Two players finished the game in double figures for Lady Hawks with Chase Parker adding 16 and Elizabeth Massenburg 10. Lilly Smith added 7.

Heritage plays Holy Spirit today in a doubleheader at home starting at 6 p.m.

Calvary Day girls 47, Landmark Christian 46: The Lady War Eagles had a chance at a victory in the closing seconds but a potential winning layup missed the mark. Diamond Smith led Landmark (5-7, 1-2 in Region 5-A) with 18 points and Jillian Price added eight in the loss.

Calvary Day boys 59, Landmark Christian 54: The War Eagles fell to 7-4 overall and 1-2 in Region 5-A.
