* Winston Dowdell Academy, 1 Fairmount School Road, Newnan, was inspected Sept. 11. Current score, 98, A. Previous score, 88, B. Inspector's comments: Seal and paint any raw wood (shelves in dry storage) -- need a smooth, cleanable surface. Repaint floors in dry storage. Seal any cracks in walls and paint as needed. Store personal items out of food prep areas (jacket).

* Carmike Cinemas #10, 87 Newnan Station Drive, Newnan, was inspected Sept. 5. Current score, 88, B. Previous score, 82, B. Inspector's comments: All employee cups must have lids and straws. Store all employee drinks out of food storage area. Use hand sinks for hand washing only. Provide paper towels at all hand sinks. Clean mold from ice machine and drink nozzles. Post most recent health inspection score and hand wash posters. Keep sleeves up on cups. Clean and repair cabinet and hand sink (mold and water damage). Repair cabinet doors -- falling off. Clean counters, inside and outside cabinets, under and around equipment, under shelves in back rooms and light shields. Repaint peeling floors in back area. Clean walls, floors and ceilings in back rooms.

Store opened food bags in labeled sealable containers. Sand and paint shelves, prep table shelves. Repair hand sink in back. Fix leak in cooler. Defrost freezer. Seal and paint any raw wood. Clean under and around all equipment, shelves, microwaves, outsides of equipment, outside of bulk containers, etc. Replace stained or warped ceiling tiles. Clean and patch and paint walls. Need thermometers inside coolers and freezers. Small flying insects on lettuce stored inside non-working cooler with cooler door open. Small roach inside hand wash sink. Flying insects around bananas and peppers. Need hand-washing sign at each hand-wash sink, including employees' restroom. Need hair restraint. Employee wearing watch on arm. Label and date foods held more than 24 hours removed from original container. Need paper towels at hand wash sink in restroom. Leak at hand wash sink drain inside restroom. Continue work on dry storage area (finishing walls, painting, etc.). Fencing dumpster area. Sealed dry storage area (new door, walls, etc.). Not prepping food in storage area. Much improved!

Stew not labeled and dated -- label and date foods held more than 24 hours. Need sanitizer in chemical spray bottle labeled "sanitizer" -- corrected. Clean microwave oven. Seal wood shelf.

Inspector's comments: Items stacked in front of hand wash sink -- hand wash sink must be accessible at all times. Clean toaster ovens, fryer basket handles, shelves, other non-food contact surfaces. Clean hood filters. Shield exposed light bulb. Smoking in prep area (no food being prepped at this time). Need hand wash signs at hand wash sinks including restrooms. Store ground beef on lower cooler rack.
