Holocaust Memorial program Sunday

by Staff Reports

Congregation B’nai Israel and Christ Our Shepherd Lutheran Church in Peachtree City will hold a Holocaust Remembrance Ceremony on Sunday.

The ceremony, which will start at 4 p.m., will be held at CBI, which is located at the intersection of Highway 54 East and Corinth Road at the Fayette County/Clayton County line.

The guest speaker this year is Col. (R) Ben Abramowitz, who was at the Nuremberg trials in Germany as an Army family member in 1946.

The ceremony remembers the 11 million people who perished during the Holocaust -- six million Jews and five million others.

The program will include choral music, a flute choir, readings and candle lightings and memorial prayers led by clergy and congregants from an interfaith perspective.
