Moreland group preparing for Mississippi trip

Volunteers from First Baptist Church in Moreland are making plans for a mission trip to the Mississippi Delta.

Daniel Ausbun, pastor of the church, said a group took a “vision trip” to get prepared for the outreach project later this summer. On May 26-27 seven people from the congregation went to area “to prepare for a churchwide mission trip in July,” Ausbun said.

The Moreland group’s work will be centered in Ruleville, Miss., and the vision group visited Ruleville Baptist Church. Making the initial trip were Ausbun, Bobby Cook, Kayla Oliver, Eric Ramey, Pete Thompson and Angela and Jimmy Yarbrough.

First Baptist Moreland held a fundraiser on May 25 to prepare for the Mississippi project. A big yard sale raised more than $1,700 toward the mission trip.
