Davidson endorsed for chaplaincy

Mary Ruth Davidson has been endorsed by the United Methodist Endorsing Agency to serve as a Hospice Chaplain.

Endorsement is recognition that Davidson – who holds a master of divinity degree – has met the requirements and completed the process to serve in extension ministry. She has shared in ministry for more 30 years with her husband, Steve Davidson, a pastor in the North Georgia Conference of the United Methodist Church.

For the past five years she has been a hospice chaplain and has just joined the staff with Affinis Hospice in Newnan as chaplain/bereavement coordinator.

The United Methodist Endorsing Agency endorses about 170 chaplains and pastoral counselors each year in more than 16 different civilian settings—including hospitals, hospices, prisons and counseling centers and in all areas of the military.
