Salvation Army Week events start Monday

This coming week is Salvation Army Week. 

Special events are planned at the Newnan Service Center on Jefferson Street. On Monday from 3-5 p.m. will be ice cream and gymnastics. Children will get to enjoy exercise and gymnastics class with ice cream to be served afterward.

Couponing 101 will be offered Tuesday from 10 a.m.-noon. A expert couponer will share the basics of couponing. A binder will be provided for anyone interested in attending the class.

On Wednesday, lunch will be served from the Salvation Army canteen from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Pet adoption will bring the cute and cuddly to the service center for the day.

On Friday, the Salvation Army Fashion Show will be held. The thrifty and stylish will model thrift store garments and offer tips on how to save money and dress fashionably. The fashion show will be held from 5-7 p.m.

A Salvation Army Week sidewalk sale will be held on May 18.

The local service center is also offering a red Salvation Army shopping bag for $1. People who buy the bag and bring it with them on return trips to the store will receive a 20 percent discount on clothing every trip.
