by W. Winston Skinner

The Cathedral of Christ the King and Oaklawn Baptist Church have announced their plans for Vacation Bible School.

SonTreasure Island will be the theme for VBS at Christ the King near Sharpsburg. Sessions will be from Monday-Friday from 6:30-8:30 p.m. for age four through sixth grade. Registration forms are available at the church.

Oaklawn’s VBS will be June 23-25 from 6-8:30 p.m. Parent Night will be June 26 at 6:30 p.m.

Oaklawn’s Bible School is for age three through sixth grade. Youth in grades 7-12 will enjoy pool time. There also will be a coin drive – with the boys competing against the girls – each night.

Oaklawn will use the popular Agency D3 detective theme for VBS this year.

Bethel Heard Baptist Church in Franklin will hold Bible School this coming week from Wednesday-Friday from 6-8 p.m. Jesus Connection will be the theme.

Hopewell United Methodist Church in Tyrone will be holding a “Living Inside Out” Vacation Bible School from June 16-19. Sessions will be from 9 a.m.-noon.

Living Inside Out takes a look at the parables Jesus told and teaches how people today can take the principles from those stories and put them into practice in their everyday lives.

Crafts, music and snacks will be provided each day. Middle and high school youth are encouraged to volunteer to help with the program. Registration is currently being accepted online at www.hopewell-umg.org for ages 5-11 years. “Living Inside Out” T-shirts may be purchased for $5 each at the church.

Family Night at Hopewell will be June 20 from 6-7:30 p.m.
