Matthew Dwyer

Matthew Dwyer is the newest Eagle Scout for Boy Scout Troop 46 in Turin.

Dwyer celebrated his Court of Honor on Feb. 28 at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Newnan with his family, friends and fellow Boy Scouts. Dwyer, 15, is a 10th grader at East Coweta High School.

His parents are Maureen “Mo” and Joe Dwyer, and his sister is Rachel Dwyer of Sharpsburg. He is the grandson of Mrs. Alethia Falls and the late Thomas Falls of Sharpsburg and of Mrs. Louise Dwyer and the late John Dwyer of Tucson, Ariz.

The Scoutmaster for Troop 46 is Jeff Thomas.

Dwyer’s Eagle Scout project was installing a surround sound system for Craig Owens’s bandroom at East Coweta Middle School — and building a storage shelf for instruments in the band room. Owens was Dwyer’s middle school band director, and he has approached Dwyer and suggested the project.
