Stitchers celebrate 60th anniversary

Paul and Dell Stitcher have been married 60 years - and partners in ministry for most of them. He now pastors West Bethel Baptist Church.

Rev. Paul Stitcher and his wife, Dell, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Oct. 16, 2013.

Paul Stitcher has been preaching since 1963. He pastored the Welcome All Baptist Church in Hogansville for 17 years and West Bethel Baptist Church in Newnan since 1981.

During this time, he has shared his ministry in radio programs on local radio stations - along with radio stations in Alabama. He also ministered to prisoners in several prisons in the local areas.

Stitcher retired from the Ford Motor Company in Hapeville after 30 years of employment.

Dell Stitcher has been a vital part of her husband's ministry, standing by him in all their walks of life in their time together. She has been playing piano since he started preaching some 50 years ago.

Mrs. Stitcher has been dedicated in leading the Woman's Missionary Union organization, teaching Sunday School and singing in the choir. She also has sung solos, as well as singing with her family and friends.

The Stitchers have three children,Valorie Fretwell (Jackie) of Hogansville,Tim Stitcher (Debbie) of Newnan and Renee Windom (Allen), also of Newnan. 'Poppy and Mama Dell' have 15 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

They also have two sisters, Mable Gaddy and Sybil Harrison, and many nieces and nephews.
