Hill is new pastor at Allen-Lee

Chad Hill, 29, of LaGrange is the new pastor at Allen-Lee Memorial United Methodist Church in Lone Oak.

Hill assumed his duties officially on June 23. Because he was not pastoring a church when he was appointed to Allen-Lee, he was able to visit Allen-Lee for several weeks prior to his first preaching Sunday and to coordinate with Melanie Stanley- Soulen, who had been Allen- Lee's pastor for six years.

Hill is a 2002 graduate of Troup High. He earned an associate's degree in computer science from West Central Technical College in 2010 and a bachelor's degree two years later from Liberty University, where he majored in religion and psychology.

Hill currently is studying for a master of divinity degree from Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, Ky.

Hill grew up in a Presbyterian family and felt called to pastor during a Youth Sunday experience. He later attended a non-denominational church and was ordained to the ministry.

Hill is married to the former Ginger Clark of LaGrange. He has a 10-year-old daughter, Kiaya.
