Menorah lighting program set in Atlanta

On Sunday, Chabad Intown will hold a Public Menorah Lighting.
Adults and children will join together to attend the ceremonies and celebrate the joyous holiday as one community. A performance will take place by the children of the Intown Jewish Preschool and the Intown Hebrew School.
The Menorah Lighting will take place from 4:30-6 p.m. at the corner of Virginia and North Highland Avenues – in the parking lot of YEAH! Burger, 1017 North Highland Ave. in Atlanta.
On Monday, at 6 p.m. Chabad Intown will hold a Public Menorah Lighting in the City of Decatur Square. Gifts, treats, hot latkes, music and entertainment are planned.
Chanukah, the Festival of Lights, recalls the ancient victory of a militarily weak but spiritually strong Jewish people over an enemy that had sought to prohibit their religious freedoms. Chanukah also propagates the universal message that ultimately good will prevail over evil, freedom over oppression and light over darkness.
Chabad Intown’s held its “Chanukah Wonderland,” a multi-media enhanced environment designed to thrill the senses that told the dramatic ancient story of Chanukah, on Dec. 2

Participants were invited to dress up like a Maccabee, craft their own Menorah candelabras and enjoy delicious traditional Chanukah foods such as potato latkes and sufganiyot (jelly doughnuts).

Chanukah Wonderland was held at Amsterdam Walk, in the heart of Virginia Highlands.
