Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church will be observing its 145th anniversary on Sunday.
The church “had its beginning in the rural section of Coweta County” in 1867, according to Henri Jean Stewart, church secretary. “Many ministers have graced the pulpit of this historic church. This is one of the oldest churches in the community.”
The anniversary service – which Stewart described as “this very fine fellowship” – will start at 2 p.m. Willie A. Melson, pastor of Bethel Heard Baptist Church in Franklin, will be the guest evangelist for the service.
Stewart said she hopes many from the community “come and enjoy this worship celebration.”
