El Buen Pastor lends bilingual ambiance to World Communion Sunday service

Ruth Cuellar, pastor of Iglesia Bautista El Buen Pastor, shared in the World Communion Sunday service at Allen-Lee Memorial United Methodist Church.
Cuellar and Melanie Stanley-Soulen, pastor at Allen-Lee, led the communion service, reading portions of the liturgy in both English and Spanish. Cuellar’s husband, Cris Avila, who ministers with her at El Buen Pastor, played the guitar to accompany his grandson, Christopher Sanchez, in presenting special music for the service.
Sanchez is a student at Welch Elementary School. El Buen Pastor, a Latino congregation organized more than 10 years ago, is affiliated with Central Baptist Church.
