Spurgeon Hays was guest celebrant and preacher at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church on Oct. 7.
Hays served for many years as rector of St. George’s Episcopal Church in Griffin. In retirement, he’s served as interim rector around the Diocese of Atlanta and is currently associate staff clergy at All Saints’ Episcopal Church in downtown Atlanta.
Earlier in his ministry, Hays served at several Baptist churches in the Southeast. He now enjoys the opportunity to travel and the flexibility it offers for involvement in the church.
In addition to reading and boating, Hayes and his wife, Judy, play golf.
