A large group recently completed the God and Country Class at Cokes Chapel United Methodist Church near Sharpsburg.
A young person voluntarily chooses to enroll in the God and Country program under a supervision of the church counselor and the help of his parents, explained Assistant Council Commissioner Jim McCarthy.
In committing oneself to this program, the young person chooses to go beyond the regular expectations of church school experiences to become involved in an intentional and personal study program. God and Country is a program that requires a commitment of time and energy to study and to act out the faith, along with an expectation to seek to continue in growth in the years to come.
Completing the program this year are Nathan Blackshire, Patrick Blair, Dalton Burchett, Evan Craig, Braden Dean, John Dick, Alan Fehn, Gabriel Hankinson, James Hickmott, Brodie Holland, Dillon Jones, Gavin Leatherwood, Xander Lockard, Grayson Neal, Michael Negron, Noah Pfaff, John and Emily Pirkle, Ashton Poage, Logan Ray, Jonathan Reed,Troy Stewart and Levi Stone.
