Two more chances for early voting

There are two more days for early voting in the Nov. 3 municipal elections.

Residents of Senoia, Grantville and Sharpsburg can vote early at the Coweta County Voter Registration Office in downtown Newnan. The office is open from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. today, and from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday.

The office is located at 22 East Broad Street in the Coweta County Administration Building. Voters must have picture ID. For more information, call 770-254-2615.

In Grantville, both incumbent council members are being challenged. Councilman Nick Sasso is being challenged by Selma Coty, and Councilwoman Rochelle Jabaley faces opposition from Marion "Sarge" Cieslik.

In Sharpsburg, a former mayor and a former councilwoman are vying for the mayor's seat.

Polly Garlington, who was elected to the town council last year, resigned in order to seek the mayor's seat. Wendall Staley, who was mayor in 2008, had decided to run for council instead and was defeated by Garlington.

Staley is now seeking to reclaim the mayor's seat.

And in Senoia, Harry Ramos is challenging councilmen Larry Owens and Jeff Fisher.

In Senoia, all three candidates run together; voters pick two, and the seats go to the top two vote-getters.
