In addition to a fatal accident that occurred Friday around 6:30 p.m. on Highway 16 West, another motorist was killed later Friday evening on Al Roberts Road in Senoia after the pickup truck he was driving overturned.

The identities of the drivers remain unknown.

The Senoia wreck occurred around midnight on Al Roberts near Nixon Road. The driver -- believed to be a 26-year-old -- reportedly exited the roadway and lost control of the vehicle, causing it to overturn. When the fire department and EMS crews arrived, the victim reportedly had a weak pulse. Emergency responders initially called for a helicopter ambulance but canceled the request after the victim died on the scene.

Earlier in the evening, during the evening rush hour, a 21-year-old male died in a head-on collision with a tractor-trailer truck on Ga. Hwy. 16 W. near Bibb Drive.

The victim had celebrated his birthday on Thursday and was on his way to celebrate with family, according to Coweta County Coroner Wimp Pierce.

The victim was driving a gray extended cab F-150 with a Carroll County tag. According to reports at the scene, the pickup driver was attempting to pass another vehicle in the passing lane when he lost control and traveled directly into the path of the tractor-trailer.

Carrollton Highway was completely shut down for some time Friday evening.

Trooper Kelvin Searcy of the Georgia State Patrol, the lead investigator in both accidents, was not available for additional information on Saturday.
