Thanks to Citizen of Year supporters

I would like to thank all the individuals and businesses that contributed to the 2010 Citizen of the Year banquet.

First, I would like to thank Lucy Hayden and the Coweta Kiwanis Club for their help in selling tickets and decorating the tables. Earlene Scott and Bobby Welch for outstanding ticket sales. Bob Ried made all the signs. Redneck Gourmet (Cile Smith) catered the event and received many favorable comments, and the County Fairground did an outstanding job of supporting and helping with the event (Karen Beatenbough and Tray Baggarly). The Times-Herald provided a great deal of publicity for the event and helped to make it a huge success.

The following businesses purchased tables at the event and contributed greatly to the overall success: Newnan Utilities (Dennis McEntire), Georgia Power (Jan Alligood), Bank of Coweta (Ann Bell), Southtowne Motors (Steve Mader), Chick-fil-A (Alan Queen), Wesley Woods (Dick Zechiel), BB&T (Don Phillips), Headley Construction (Bill Headley), Piedmont Newnan Hospital (Michael Bass), The Times-Herald (Sam Jones), United Bank (Steve Stripling), Newnan Kiwanis Club (Bill McKinley) and Crain Oil Company (Joe Crain).

The 2010 Citizen of the Year is Mrs. Annie Joe Berkowitz, and she is a most deserving individual.

However, all 12 of the nominees were outstanding, and any one of them would have made a great Citizen of the Year. The 12 who were nominated are George Alexander, Jan Alligood, Chip Barron, Annie Joe Berkowitz, Terry Daviston, Bonnie Garrison, David Kinrade, Lana Mobley, Sharron Parks, Stephen Quesinberry, Robert Woods and Richard Stender.

So to each and every one of these individuals I would like to express my deepest gratitude for helping to recognize some of the outstanding citizens of Coweta County.
