The festival will run April 18-June 7, Saturdays and Sundays and Memorial Day from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
It's the grandest party since Camelot. Once inside the gates of the magnificent 16th Century Kingdom, you'll find Knights in shining armor and Maidens, King Henry VIII and his Court, jolly pubs, and more than 32-acres of shops offering an array of exceptional treasures and craft demonstrations by artisans from all over the world. Distinctive items include blown glass goblets, handmade perfumes, leather goods and hand-turned pottery.
Feast like royalty on a gigantic variety of delectable delights including the popular giant roasted turkey legs. The Festival is importing the finest sausages from R.J. Balson & Son, England's Oldest Family Butchers since 1535 for two new food offerings, Toad in the Hole and Bangers and Mash. Many Americans are familiar with the popular Bangers and Mash, but Toad in the Hole is a recipe new to the South. The seasoned imported pork sausages are roasted and then baked in a tasty pastry batter and can be served with or without gravy.
Endless entertainment awaits with ten stages featuring rope walking, juggling, music and comedic storytelling.
Jousting on Horseback -- the original extreme sport -- and the magnificent highflying Birds of Prey and Animal Shows are not to be missed.
Come be thrilled and inspired by the sounds of Cast in Bronze. Nothing can compare to the breathtaking music performed on 5 tons of cast bronze bells. Cast in Bronze has entertained dignitaries all over the world performing for Pope John Paul II, at the Inauguration of President Bush, and at Walt Disney World's Epcot Center in Florida. The music of Cast in Bronze has also been heard on radio, at music and renaissance festivals in the United States, and on the NBC Today Show.
The Arabian, Andalusia and the Royal Lipizzan Stallions will be showcased.
In the category of nerve-testing and hair-raising experiences, Dextre Tripp presents exhibitions of skill and nerve with incredibly tall unicycling, precision whip cracks, and comedy at the speed of sound.
New to the festival this year, the Knife Throwing Impalement Act. Thirteen razor-edged steel knives are hurled through space outlining the figure of a lucky lady. There's 23 percent more danger, more excitement, and more chainsaws than you can shake a stick at during the all new Exhibitions of Skill and Nerve Show.
The energetic and exuberant tunes of Groghat will have fairgoers clapping hands and tapping toes. Come indulge in an exciting musical fusion of Celtic and Gypsy sounds played on bouzouki, bass, violin and more.
Parking is free at the festival grounds.
