Mrs. Bernice Marie Whitley

Mrs. Bernice M. Whitley, age 75, of Moreland, Ga., passed away on Sunday, January 31, 2010 at Piedmont Newnan Hospital. She was born on January 25, 1935 in Newnan to the late Furley Bowden and Ruby Hendrix Bowden. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Moreland. Mrs. Whitley was preceded in death by son Tony Whitley.

She is survived by her husband, Sam Whitley of Moreland, Ga.; daughter, Cathy Whitley West & her husband Richard of Cartersville, Ga.; son, Tim Whitley of Moreland, Ga.; daughter-in-law, Judy Whitley; grandchildren, Brian and Trish Whitley, Beth Robinson, Christy and Michael Bowie, Jeromy Hayes, Tiffany Whitley and Ashlie Whitley; sister, Kay Rooks and brother, Ray Bowden; great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Nathan Bowie, Abbi Hayes, Emma and Avery Robinson and Sam and Brice Whitley.

Funeral services for Bernice M. Whitley, will be held Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2010 at 2 p.m. in the McKoon Funeral Home chapel. Rev. L.B. Rooks and Rev. Terry Calhoun will officiate. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery in Moreland. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Feb. 2, from 6 to 8 p.m. at McKoon Funeral Home.
