Mrs. Maggie Cash Wells

Mrs. Maggie Cash Wells, 88, of Waddell Street, Bremen, Ga., passed away May 31, 2009.

Mrs. Wells was born Oct. 6, 1920, in Haralson County, Ga., the daughter of the late Asa Cash and Hattie Smith Cash. A retired seamstress of The Arrow Company and the longest active member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church, she joined on Aug. 16, 1937. She was also a member of Higgins Auxiliary for 26 years and a member of Circle of Friends II.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Guy Wells; daughter, JoAnne Lee; sisters, Belle Gresham and Ruby Dingler; brothers, Arthur Cash, Dewey Cash and Bud Cash.

She is survived by son-in-law, Donnie Lee of Bremen; brother and sister-in-law, Avery & Lois Cash of Bremen; grandchildren, Lorri and Paul Hammond of Sharpsburg, Lisa and David Steed of Newnan; great-grandchildren, Matthew & Megan Hammond and Julie Anne and Jake Steed.

The family received friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, June 2 between 5 & 8 p.m.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 3 at 11 a.m. from the chapel of Hightower Funeral Home with Reverend Bill Cowart officiating. Chad Cantrell, Shannon Cantrell, Larry McCarley, Spencer McGraw, Jody Pruitt, Kenneth Saxon and Danny Smith will serve as pallbearers. Higgins Pink Ladies will serve as honorary pallbearers. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
