Mr. Roy Hilton Burgess

Mr. Roy Hilton Burgess, 77, of Moreland, Ga., died Monday, July 28, 2008, at Piedmont Newnan Hospital. He was born Nov. 24, 1930, in Troup County, Ga., to the late Jimmie L. and Minnie Hughey Burgess. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service and was a member of Moreland First Baptist Church. The funeral is Wednesday, July 30 at 4 p.m. in the chapel of McKoon Funeral Home with Rev. Searcy Jackson and Rev. Daniel Ausbun officiating. Burial will follow at Southview Cemetery in Moreland. The visitation was Tuesday evening at McKoon Funeral Home, 6-8 p.m. Flowers are welcome or memorial contributions may be made to Moreland First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 135, Moreland, GA 30259. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Tucker Burgess; children, Cathy (Bob) Heffner, Steve (Ellen) Burgess, Beverly (Mike) Yeager, David (Marie) Burgess; siblings, Jimmie Burgess, Raymond (Virginia) Burgess, Billy (Alice) Burgess, Barbara (J.B.) Short; grandchildren, Carrie Heffner (Myles) Dixon, Melanie Burgess, Tyler Burgess, Kirby Yeager and Weston Yeager.
