Newnan woman treated at Grady after neck slashed

A Newnan woman was transported to Grady Hospital in Atlanta for surgery Friday afternoon when her neck was slashed during a disagreement that turned physical, Newnan Police officials report.

Investigator Abraham Bordeaux said Bernice Wright of Newnan received two non-life threatening lacerations during an altercation with Joe Tenney Jr., also of Newnan.

The incident occurred around lunchtime at 42 Kidd St. in the Fairmount Tavern area, he said.

According to Bordeaux, Tenney was arrested after the fight and charged with aggravated assault.
