Recently in Sound Off, there was a comment critical of Piedmont Newnan Hospital. I want to differ with that criticism. I happened to read that comment while my wife was in the hospital after having two strokes.
I found all the nurses, nurses aides and the doctors showing great care and interest in my wife’s well-being. In fact I want to praise Robin Ray, who was instrumental in my wife being transferred to Roosevelt Warm Springs for her rehab. This was important for two reasons: One it is the best place she could have gone for rehab, and second, while she was there she had a possible heart attack. If we had been home doing outpatient therapy, my precious wife might not be here today.
Because Robin got her into Warm Springs, she was surrounded by three nurses and a doctor within minutes. Robin may have saved my wife’s life.
The person who wrote the derogatory comments to Sound Off may have had a bad experience because of one individual not performing their duties in a professional and caring manner, but I must say again Robin Ray and the rest of the staff that I was blessed to have care for my wife were excellent!
Thank you, Robin, for your professionalism, compassion and wisdom.
