A drug search by Meriwether County Sheriff's Office authorities resulted in arrests of Coweta residents.
Meriwether County Sheriff's deputies, assisted by Greenville and Hogansville police officers, executed a search warrant in the Zion Hill Community on Thursday. According to a release from the Meriwether Sheriff's Office, officers conducted the search around 5:30 p.m. at the home of Demetres LaShon Dean, 29, of 12 Keepsake Lane, Grantville. "Numerous plastic baggies containing suspected marijuana, crack cocaine and powder cocaine packaged for distribution were found during the search," Meriwether Sheriff Steve Whitlock said. "We've had this home under surveillance and during these times we've noticed a high volume of vehicle and foot traffic going to and from the Keepsake Lane home."
According to police incident reports, a partially stripped 2003 Mercedes Benz reported stolen to the Coweta County Sheriff's Office on Oct. 12, 2007, was also recovered.
Six people were arrested during the search, all for charges including violation of the Georgia Controlled Substances Act, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of crack cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, operating a chop shop, and theft by receiving stolen property. Arrested were:

* Gary Lewis Blount, 36, of 4015 Primrose Road, Grantville,
* Renaldo Derrez Moreland, 25, of 68 Railroad St., Luthersville,
* Ramon Andrell Addie, 22, of 198 Zebra Lane, Grantville,
* Tyrone O'Patrick Green, 26, 0f 147 John Trammell Road, Grantville and
* Schaffery Carnell Rosser, 29, of 26 South Street, Newnan.
Dean remained Monday afternoon in the Meriwether County Detention Center under bonds totaling $63,000, and the others remain in jail under bonds totaling $61,500.
