Homecoming 2012: East Coweta, Heritage School celebrate with wins

Let the celebration begin at East Coweta High and The Heritage School.

Both schools capped off Homecoming Week 2012 on Friday night with huge victories.

At East Coweta, the Indians raced to a 30-0 halftime lead on their way to an impressive 44-15 victory over Tri-Cities in a Region 3-AAAAAA football game. The victory moves East Coweta to 3-4 on the year and 2-0 in region play.

Across the county, Heritage School was just as impressive with a 35-0 blanking of Stratford Academy. The victory marks the best start in school history for the Hawks, now 7-0 overall and 2-0 in GISA Region 2-AAA action.

Homecoming queens were presented to the home crowds during halftime festivities at both schools.

Senior Anna Cole was crowned 2012 Homecoming Queen at East Coweta. The Homecoming Court at ECHS included senior maids Quierra Anderson, Jennifer Arnett, Alexa Carleo, Sarah Colwell, Alexis Cruise, Alexis Johnson and Marisa Willis; junior maids Morgan Adams, Nikki Brandley, Jasmine Jenkins, Tori Leone, Madison Nunes and Rachel Travis; sophomore maids Julia Ghyzel, Madeline McTier, Diamond Pettaway and Brittany Whelan; and freshman maids Katie Brady and Kylie Ross.

And at Heritage School, senior Carrie Riley was crowned 2012 Homecoming Queen. The Homecoming Court at Heritage School included senior maids Lindsey Sherrod, Hannah Smith, and Cheney Thomasson; junior maids Samantha Sims and Ansley Dieckmann; sophomore maids Ruthie Powell and Molly Scheumann; and freshman maids Julianna Griffies and Zofia Powell.
