Government like pro wrestling

How many of you are like me and have been more intently intrigued with the mechanics of how our government works lately? Are you more concerned about what new tax we'll have to pay or what personal right we might lose next? It's like God is trying to get our attention. He likes a crisis more than Obama. But God's motives are pure, and I believe he is calling us to pray for forgiveness and rely on his help in a time like America has never experienced in our short history as a nation.

A multitude of misguided politicians in Washington, D.C., think they should control our every move and play God. These fools, pound for pound, are some of the most corrupt individuals this side of prison walls. We trusted them with our votes, and they have betrayed us like Judas. They hear our collective cries to stop the madness, but it is as if they are dope fiends in need of another fix. Their drug of choice is power.

Many of us have initially felt a loss of respect. I mean, here we are, employers at the sudden mercy of the employees. One political party shouts "vengeance is mine for the sins of the past" as the other plays the defenseless "minority lamb." But I get the feeling they both meet behind the curtain, slapping high-fives like good guys and bad guys in professional wrestling. This show is not in the ring, but on the cable news programs.

Fret not, for when our collective backs are against the wall is when we do our best fighting. No torches or pitchforks just yet. Pray for wisdom, then let's vote them rascals out of office.
