ATLANTA (AP) — The Savannah College of Art and Design is honoring veteran performer Phylicia Rashad at its inaugural television festival in Atlanta.
The school is hosting a three-day program titled, "aTVfest" at the Savannah College of Art and Design's Atlanta campus in Midtown and at other locations throughout the neighborhood Feb. 14 through 16.
Rashad is being honored with the Outstanding Achievement in Television Award, and will be presented with the award Feb. 16.
Rashad is perhaps most widely known for her role as Claire Huxtable on "The Cosby Show," and has received numerous honors for her career in television, film and on Broadway, which has included roles in "A Raisin in the Sun," ''Cat on a Hot Tin Roof," and "For Colored Girls," among other productions.
