Willie L. Gate will be remembered at services Friday, Sept. 12, 2008, at 1 p.m. at Summerhill Baptist Church. Burial in the church cemetery. Mildred Haynes Hemmings, 87, died Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2008, at her home in Newnan, Ga. Funeral is Thursday, Sept. 11 at 11 a.m. graveside at Oak Hill Cemetery, Newnan. The visitation is Wednesday evening between 6 and 8 p.m. at McKoon Funeral Home, Newnan.

Frank Richard Peters, 71, of Marietta, Ga., died Saturday, Sept. 7, 2008. A memorial service is planned on Saturday, Sept. 13 at Newnan First United Methodist Church, 33 Greenville Street, at 2 p.m. Wages & Sons Funeral Home, Stone Mountain Chapel.

Theron Miles Rea, 83, of Newnan, Ga. (previously of Hazlehurst, Ga.), died on Monday Sept., 8, 2008, at Healthfield Hospice Center in Clayton County. A service will be held in the McKoon chapel on Thursday, Sept 11 at 2 p.m. A second visitation will be held on Friday, Sept. 12 from noon - 1:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Hazlehurst with a graveside service to follow at 2 p.m. in the Union Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Snipesville, Ga.

Ed Smith, 68, of Newnan, Ga., died Saturday Sept. 6, 2008, at Duke University Medical Center, Durham, NC. Visitation will be Friday, Sept. 12 at McKoon Funeral Home in Newnan, Ga., from 6 to 8 p.m. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 13 at First Baptist Church of Newnan. Following the memorial service, burial will be at Westview Cemetery, Atlanta, Ga.
