While a wedding wasn't in the cards for Newnan's own DeAnna Pappas -- former star of ABC's reality television dating series "The Bachelorette" -- she will soon be helping other brides walk down the aisle in a new small screen gig.

Beginning Jan. 5, Pappas will be co-host for Lifetime network's "Get Married," a show that covers all things wedding-related.

Along with host Colin Cowie -- a designer, style arbiter and author of numerous wedding books -- Pappas will be offering planning tips and trends for the big day, as well as blogging on the "Get Married" online bridal community site, www.BloggerBrides.com . Episodes will air weekdays at 7:30 a.m.

On the show's Web site -- www.getmarried.com -- Pappas said, "In 2007, my life path changed dramatically after I decided to audition for a reality show. I then found myself on two seasons of network television in search of true love. Although my efforts were not successful I remain optimistic about finding my Mr. Right and having the wedding of my dreams some day. I have been there for plenty of my friends and family on their wedding days. Offering my help, support, and advice to help make their day truly the most memorable event of their lives. I am looking forward to enjoying my very own special wedding one day."

Pappas called off her engagement to "The Bachelorette winner, Jesse Csincsak, in November and reportedly donated her ring to charity. She was famously rejected by Brad Womack in 2007 on "The Bachelor" before landing her own reality show role.

Single Seattle Dad Jason Mesnick, Pappas' runner-up on "The Bachelorette," begins his stint as "The Bachelor" when the ABC romance series' 13th installment begins with a two-hour special Jan. 5 at 8 p.m.
