Terry Manning, aka George Washington, was the featured speaker at the February meeting of the General Daniel Newnan Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Manning is a longtime member of the Sons of the American Revolution.
He has been the featured speaker at many SAR and DAR chapters around the country. He has served on several chapter boards and also at the state level of SAR.
Manning’s presentation was about the SAR and its relationship with the DAR. He appeared in statesman’s attire of Washington’s day, complete with buckle shoes but minus the ponytail.
Several members of the Marquis De Lafayette Chapter of the SAR were in attendance, including current President Bob Wylie and Registrar David Jessel.
The General Daniel Newnan DAR chapter meets monthly on the third Saturday and welcomes guests and prospective members.

The Marquis de Lafayette Chapter SAR meets at 7 p.m. on the second Tuesday each month at the Heritage Bank on North Jeff Davis Drive in Fayetteville.
