East Newnan Baptist Church again brought the spiritual origins of Christmas to many Cowetans through its Singing Christmas Tree program.
This year’s program, “Infant Holy, Infant Lowly,” was presented at the church on the evenings of Dec. 15-16. Pat Latta, pastor of the church, said the presentation aimed to show “the real true meaning of Christmas – Immanuel, God has come to dwell among us.”
Soloists included Michele Bowden, Cindy Carroll, Barry Gamblin, Shannon Pack, Jaycie Thrower and Rick Witter. Carroll and her daughter, Becky Turner, also shared testimonies during the presentation.
Dr. Bobby Stevenson, minister of music, directed “Infant Holy, Infant Lowly.” The pianist was Bethany Sewall, and
Sopranos were Michele Bowden, Katelyn Cannon, Stephanie Cannon, Cindy Carroll, Nancy Curlee, Carolyn Evans, Yvette Landsberg, Vernice Little, Hilda Meadows, Holly Meese, Terrie Moss, Shannon Pack, Judy Powers, Eleanor Shelnutt, Janet Smith, Carol Stewart, Nicole Vaillancourt, Marvis Waller and Diane Williams.
Altos were Amy Bassett, Rachel Bassett, Alisa Caldwell, Teresa Cannon, Nan Groll, June Harris, Ansley Ivey, Tondra Ivey, Sallie Kight, Myrna Pope, Carole Raines, Julia Shankus, Becky Turner and Linda West.
Singing tenor were Barry Gamblin, Mike Ivey, Dan Loftin, Ernie Meadows, Alan Sibley and Betty Wessinger. Basses were James Bassett, Ron Beacham, James Burnett, Pat Harris, Jim Kight and Stephen Schaefer.
Jessica Stevenson was in charge of lights, and Brenda Nall operated the cameras. Sound technicians were Steve Cannon, Mel Nall and Randy Pope.
