Members of First Baptist Church in Moreland recently took a trip down Candy Cane Lane.
On Dec. 16, “Candy Cane Lane,” a children’s Christmas musical, was presented at the Moreland church. Maddie Veal had the central role of Candy Cane Jane.
“Candy Cane Lane: A Recipe for Life” was created and written by Celeste Clydesdale. David T. Clydesdale arranged the music for the fanciful and entertaining play.
The musical taught that God alone can satisfy His children. Spiritual lessons relating to the candy cane were part of the play, which also included a birthday cake and a birthday song for Jesus.
Refreshments were served in the church’s fellowship hall after “Candy Cane Lane.”
On Dec. 9, there was another Christmas musical presentation at First Baptist in Moreland. The sanctuary performed “Silent Night! Holy Night!” with 24 people singing in the choir.
