The Coweta County Board of Commissioners will meet Thursday at 6 p.m. Commission meetings are typically held the first and third Tuesdays of the month, but this week’s meeting was moved to Thursday.
An agenda was released Tuesday but supporting documents were not available.
The first item on the agenda is a request from Mike Riley of Stalwart Films to address the commissioners regarding filming of “The Walking Dead.”
Other items on the agenda include:
• Approval of an engineering contract with McGee Partners for traffic analysis at the “Five Points” intersection of Martin Luther King Drive, East Newnan Road, Turkey Creek Road and Poplar Road.
• A request regarding bailiff’s salaries. Two years ago, Coweta Superior Court bailiffs came before the commissioners to ask for an increase in their salary from $70 per day to $80. The $70 per day rate was set in 1999, they said. The commissioners did not grant their request, though there was discussion of considering the issue during future budget negotiations. During those meetings, it was said the raise would cost the county between $15,000 and $18,000 per year.
• A public hearing on a proposed ordinance amendment regarding administrative variances.
