Senior Living: Centers have variety of activities

The Tommy Thompson Senior Center in Newnan offers fun daily activities, and is located at 29 Hospital Rd. For details on center programs, call 770-683-8600.

Panther Creek Senior Center, located at 2285 W. Hwy. 16 in Sargent; The East Coweta Center, located at 300 Howard Rd. in Senoia; and the Welcome Center, located at 1792 Welcome Rd. in Newnan, all have regular weekly programs for seniors. For information on weekly programs at the East Coweta, Panther Creek or Welcome senior centers, call 770-252-6429.

The Grantville Senior Center is located at 123 LaGrange St. in Grantville. For information on daily activities or special events, call 770-583-2706.

Concert helps fight senior hunger

The place to be on Saturday is the Alamo in downtown Newnan. Join the first annual Music for Meals Concert to benefit Meals on Wheels of Coweta. This concert was organized by singer-songwriter Kris Youmans of the Kris Youmans Band, to raise money to help Meals on Wheels fight senior hunger in Coweta County.

Barry Richman is the opening act, followed by the Kris Youmans Band, the Paige McCauley Band, Daniel Williams & Honky Tonk Deluxe, and the Highlife Band.

The doors will open at 4 p.m., with the first band performing at 5 p.m. Tickets are $10 per person. For more information go to www.mealsonwheelsofcoweta.org or call 678-423-1700.
