Certainly, the people of Coweta County do not believe that only Republicans are Christians.
Nevertheless, letter after letter to the editor berates Democrats for being Godless and un-Christian. Nothing could be further from the truth.
The overwhelming majority of Democrats are self-identifying Christians. Only about 5 percent of us are non-Christian by birth, but they are also God-fearing people.
The overwhelming feeling that I get is that this county believes my God is better than your God. Moreover, it’s largely fundamentalist Protestant versus liberal Protestant and Catholic.
Maybe some of your readers should take a trip to Belfast to observe what the results are when there is hate between Christians, even in today’s world.
The Republican attempt to hijack the Christian religion will not work.
