Georgia Power’s Plant Yates, located in western Coweta along the Chattahoochee River, is one of the country’s oldest and dirtiest power plants and is “ripe for retirement,” according to a report released this week by the Union of Concerned Scientists and the Southern Alliance for Clean Energy.
