Around town: Home Helpers to have program on Medicare at Carnegie

Many seniors who are entitled to Medicare benefits do not fully understand them. The reasons are plenty. Some may not be aware of what is available; others may not understand the Medicare rules for enrollment periods and still others may not realize the financial value of the services.

The 2012 Enrollment period ends early this year: Dec. 7. On Nov. 16, Home Helpers of Georgia will have a Medicare expert on hand to answer questions. The session will run from 9:30 to 11 a.m.

• November auction supports Senoia Area Historical Society

The Senoia Area Historical Society will sponsor its Annual Auction on Saturday, Nov. 17 at the headquarter house, 6 Couch St., Senoia.

The preview of items will begin at 6:30 p.m., along with a menu of heavy hors d’oeuvres and refreshments with an admission donation of $10. The auction will begin at 7:30 p.m. with professional auctioneer Ray Grammar leading us through an evening of fun and surprises.

Join in to support the society’s efforts to preserve the town’s history and heritage. Senoia Area Historical Society is a 501c(3) non-profit organization and donations are tax deductible.
