Newnan Theatre Company announces auditions for the Pulitzer Prize winning drama “Rabbit Hole,” written by David Lindsay-Abaire and directed by Bert Lyons.
Auditions will be held at Newnan Theatre Company, located at 24 1st Ave., Newnan. Audition dates are Tuesday, Dec. 11, and Wednesday, Dec. 12 at 7 p.m. Production dates are Feb. 14, 15, 16, 17, 21, 22, 23, and 24.
In a comfortable suburban home, five ordinary people each find ways to live on and through the death of a young boy in a car accident: a mother and father, a sister, a grandmother and the teenage boy who drove the car. Told with humor, drama and engaging characters, it is a story of loss, heartbreak and forgiveness, told through daily moments of joy and pain as the family moves on.

Becca (Female): late thirties/early forties
Izzy (Female): early thirties, Becca’s sister
Howie (Male): late thirties/early forties, Becca’s husband
Nat (Female): mid-sixties, Becca’s and Izzy’s mother
Jason (Male): a seventeen-year old boy

The young men auditioning for Jason should memorize the monologue designated.

• Benefit concert Nov. 17 at Drake Stadium
A Nov. 17 benefit concert for cancer patient Korey Latham will highlight country singers Doug Stone and Corbette Jackson. Gates will open at 11 a.m. for the concert, to be held at Drake Stadium at Newnan High School. Vendors will offer food and activities for children, including pony rides.
A car show will be held the same day.
Korey Latham is a toddler battling a neuroblastoma. Total event proceeds will go to Korey’s family for medical and related costs.
Children under 4 are admitted for free to the event. Tickets are $20 for adults, and $12 for children ages 5-12. Tickets may be purchased at the gate or at www.causeforkorey.weebly.com .
