Couch celebrates her 102nd birthday

Mrs. Maudean Couch celebrated her 102nd birthday recently with family and friends. She was born Oct. 18, 1910, one of eleven children. She has lived in Coweta for 95 years.

Mrs. Couch worked at the First Baptist day care for many years and loves caring for babies.

President William Howard Taft was president when she as born.

Having lived through 18 presidents, she said President Roosevelt was her favorite.

When asked about her secret to longevity, Couch replied, “It ain’t no secret. You just keep going each day.”

“Miss Maudean” is loved by all who know her.
