Senior Living: Meals on Wheels announces new way to donate

Meals on Wheels of Coweta donations can now be made using credit card payments.

Visit www.mealsonwheelsofcoweta.org to make a tax deductible donation to help end elder hunger for homebound seniors in Coweta County.

• Wellness check-up for seniors

All seniors are invited to “Take Time for Wellness” at Wesley Woods Thursday, Oct. 11 from 9 a.m. to 12 noon. Come take advantage of free skin cancer screenings, cholesterol checks, blood pressure checks and much more. The event includes free give-a-ways and free information.

• Happenings at the Newnan Senior Center

The Tommy Thompson Senior Center in Newnan, located at 29 Hospital Rd., has fun activities each week day from crafts to card games. Activities this week will include the Gospel Heirs singing on Thursday, and Apple Festival on Friday.

• Coweta has several centers for seniors

Panther Creek Senior Center, located at 2285 W. Hwy. 16 in Sargent; The East Coweta Center, located at 300 Howard Rd. in Senoia; and the Welcome Center, located at 1792 Welcome Rd. in Newnan, all have regular weekly programs for seniors. For information on weekly programs at the East Coweta, Panther Creek or Welcome senior centers, call 770-252-6429.

The Grantville Senior Center is located at 123 LaGrange St. in Grantville. For information on daily activities or special events, call 770-583-2706.
