The annual benefit walk for Coweta Pregnancy Services (CPS) has a new name — Steps for Life - and will be held Saturday, Oct. 13 in downtown Newnan.
The walk raises funds for the programs of the non-profit CPS, which provides parenting classes, abstinence counseling and ultrasound services.
Steps for Life registration will begin from the Court Square at 8 a.m. The walk begins at 8:30 a.m.
Program director Cindy Hughes says this year’s goal is $25,000 and will be “used as part of the annual operating budget.”
In 2011, CPS served 2,660 clients and administered more 920 pregnancy tests.
If you cannot walk, there will be event T-shirts for sale that day, or donations can be made at the center, located at 29 Brown Street in Newnan.
Those raising $150 in pledges will receive an event T-shirt.
For additional details on the event, call 770-251-7158 or visit online at www.cowetapregnancyservices.org .
The walk is held rain or shine, and is a two-mile course through downtown Newnan.
